Support Aspetuck Land Trust to Save More Land!
Dear James,
It is not a pretty picture. Pristine unbroken green forest, home to countless species such as eagles, owls, bears, bobcats, and beavers, to be stripped bare for driveways, roads, houses, utilities, and golf holes.
Glacial ridges, wild streams, and miles of trails enjoyed by 10's of thousands each year, to be replaced by grey infrastructure, construction and artificial landscape for the very few.
Forever Gone or Forever Yours
Thanks to people like you, people who cared, the 130 luxury home community and 18-hole golf course pictured in the map above was stopped in the nick of time.
Land doesn't save itself.
People save land.
People like YOU
It was a flurry of tours, hikes, meetings, fundraising, organizing, baseball hats and bake sales, with citizens and celebrities, grownups and kids, from all over Fairfield County. And finally, because of people just like you this land was saved forever, this 1,009-acre Trout Brook Valley Preserve that we know and love today.
I know you feel the same way I do, that it is daunting to consider that conservation of open space in our region relies so heavily on people, people like you and me, people who care.
But together with your help, just as we did 25 years ago, we can conserve land at a greater scale and pace than ever before, for countless species to thrive, for a healthier ecosystem, for all, and for generations to come.
But to keep going, we need your support.
