Eka - Festival of young soloists and revisiting the splendour of solo dance recitals. This dance festival aims to revive and revisit the relevance of all Indian Classsical dance forms in a solo recital format. In the Bay Area, solo dance opportunities are rare and therefore has faded in significance. Many young soloists dont get dance opportunities they deserve, EKA Dance Festival was inititated to encourage, develop and support both established and emerging bay area talents and beyond to present Solo Recitals. Kalpavruksha Creations and Shanmukha Theaters have collaborated to present EKA. In Addition, we are having notable Guest Performances in each Classical Category; Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Odissi, Mohiniyattam, Kathak and Manipuri. We are honoured to have Shrimathi Sunita Pendekanti as our honourable guest to present a showcase performance and insightful lectures on Ashta Nayikas in Kuchipudi.
