Choreographic Workshop Students Dance in Roxey Ballet's River Dance Festival
Congratulations to the students of the Choreographic Workshop on their three days of performing at the River Dance Festival! The students shared the stage with many talented choreographers and dancers from across the country. It was a truly memorable experience for all.
A Joyful Summer of Dance
Our summer programs have come to a close and September is just around the corner. We would like to thank all of the students for their hard work, dedication, and smiling faces in the studio this summer as they expanded their skills and made lifelong memories. Dancer Wellness Workshop
Students ages 10 and up are invited to join us for a Dancer Wellness Workshop on Wednesday, September 6 from 5-7:30 p.m. We highly recommend students attend this informative class to help best prepare for the upcoming fall season. Dance physical therapist Holly Burns will teach exercises with a focus on injury prevention, specifically to the ankles where most dance injuries occur. Former professional dancer and nutrition expert Julie Cobble will speak on the topic of self-care, making healthy food choices, and the importance of rest for dancers.
The workshop is $40 and can be registered for at millballetschool.com. To register, log in to your account and select "workshops/drop in classes".

The Studio is Open
Join us at the studio on September 5, 6, and 8 from 4:30-7 p.m. before classes begin on September 11. Stop by to make sure you are ready for class with the required dance attire, purchase leotards and tights, say hello, view our space, and have the opportunity to ask questions before we begin a new season of dance. Students will also be able to register for Nutcracker auditions while at the studio.
Benefits of Dance Education for All
Dance is so much more than just movement to music; it gives people the ability to communicate without words. Dance education has value not only within the dance community, but in every aspect of life outside of it. Through dance education, students learn different types of movements, terminology, and musicality, and receive the tools to develop valuable skills that they take with them through life. Responsibility, accountability, perseverance, grit, communication skills, memory tactics, and so much more are learned through dance education.
Here at the Mill Ballet School, we are devoted to reaching all students, as we deeply value providing dance education to everyone, regardless of ability. Our teaching artists are trained to properly educate dancers of any level so that we can continue to grow and inspire our community. All that is required of our students is a willingness to learn.
Boys Dance Too
Dance is not just for the girls! At MBS we welcome all students to join us in classes including ballet, contemporary and hip-hop. Our male instructors Mark Roxey, Reggie Oliver, and Kaito Kurokawa are positive role models with a passion for bringing the arts to all students. Classes are non gender specific and boys are made to feel comfortable pursuing their interests.
For placement questions please contact Melissa Roxey at [email protected].
