Hello Friend!

It’s become a common refrain of mine, and I mean it: people like you are the heart of the Erie Playhouse.

This was evident last month when we received more than 300 donations during Erie Gives. It was evident when more than 150 people came to our most recent auditions. It was evident when we announced our new Playhouse for All initiative, ensuring the arts are accessible to everyone. It was evident throughout Playhouse Week, including our sold-out MISCAST cabaret, Trivia Night, and our Playhouse Icons panel. And it was certainly evident in the enthusiasm of hundreds of guests who gathered in celebration of our 2025 season reveal. While our name changed a long time ago from The People’s Theatre, it’s a part of our DNA: the people are the heart of the Playhouse!

As we approach the end of 2024 (how is that possible already?!), let me suggest just a few things you can do to support your Erie Playhouse:

1) Buy tickets! We’ve got four great shows yet to come this season, including THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, SWEENEY TODD, DISNEY'S BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, and our highly anticipated Youtheatre production of TUCK EVERLASTING. If you plan to purchase multiple Mainstage tickets, there’s a good chance you’ll save money by buying a Choice Card.

2) Volunteer! We’ve recently made some improvements to our usher program, including scheduling by production rather than for the entire season. This gives you the flexibility to usher for performances that fit your schedule without committing to an entire year.

If you’re interested, fill out our Volunteer Interest Form and we’ll send you the online sign-up for each production when they become available (There are still a few open spots for SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION).

3) Make a donation! We realize not everyone likes to donate during Erie Gives. Maybe you donated earlier in the year and would like to make another contribution. We have just over $60,000 to go to meet our 2024 Annual Fund goal by December 31. If you can contribute, we appreciate your support!

4) Buy a 30 for 30 Raffle ticket before October 1 and join us for Bingo on Sunday, October 13. These are two great ways to support the Playhouse and hopefully win big, too! See below or click the links for details.

And finally, get ready to purchase your 2025 season tickets, which go on sale to the public on Tuesday, September 17! Our box office staff will be on hand starting at 10:00 a.m. to assist you, answer questions, and help you select the best options to meet your needs. It’s going to be an epic season!

Playhouse for All! 

The Erie Playhouse is thrilled to share a special partnership furthering our mission of making live theatre accessible to everyone called Playhouse For All.

Playhouse For All enables patrons with a state-issued ACCESS card the ability to purchase up to four tickets to any production, including THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, for $5 each. This program is made possible by a Helping Today grant from the Erie Community Foundation.
