PIERRE, S.D. – On April 19th, Governor Kristi Noem ordered that flags be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol from sunrise until sunset on Monday, April 22^nd, 2024, in honor of former state legislator and Public Utilities Commissioner James “Jim” Burg. He represented Jerauld County in the South Dakota State House of Representatives from 1975-1984 and in the South Dakota State Senate from 1985-1986.

Funeral services for former state legislator Jim Burg will take place at 10:30 am on April 22^nd, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wessington Springs, SD.
