Synopsis: Teenager Cloe accidentally sees a list of names another student is compiling. Is it a hit list for a planned school shooting, or is it something more innocent? Now Cloe has one night to make the hardest decision she's ever faced: Say nothing and risk a mass murder, or report the student and possibly ruin his life over nothing. In a cascading series of phone calls, Cloe, her friends and two adults race against the clock to find the balances between responsibility and panic. Active shooter drills are supposed to prepare students to survive, but what's preparing them to live under a constant threat of violence?

The Hip-Hop Orchestra Experience
featuring Dort Honors String Quartet
Friday, March 7, 2025 7pm
Capitol Theatre
FIM presents
The Hip-Hop Orchestra Experience is part concert, dance party, and club night, featuring original music that samples from classical and hip-hop — all presented in an underground setting like the New York scene that birthed hip-hop. Their music uniquely challenges the MCs and classical musicians pushing the boundaries of both hip-hop and concert music, creating something completely new. The program includes seminal works of Mozart, Bach, and Beethoven, deconstructed and reimagined with funky rhythms and rapid-fire rhymes.
Led by composer/pianist, JooWan Kim, the Hip-Hop Orchestra Experience creates Metamusic by sampling principles of hip-hop and classical. Executed with resident MCs, a lyric soprano, woodwinds, French horns, strings, piano, and drums, the music is rigorous, nuanced, accessible, and free from the dogmas of Western European concert music aesthetic. The result is a seamless tête-à-tête with “textures swimming through the sound…like the world’s fastest ping-pong game” (Pitchfork) and is considered the “cutting edge of hip-hop” (Huffington Post).
Age recommendation: Family friendly
Runtime: Approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes
Includes intermission
Tickets start at $35 / $25 for Genesee County residents (plus fees)
