From: Fountain Hills Dark Sky FestivalStudent Art Contest
Kindergarten through 12th grade students in Fountain Hills can win cash and showcase their art at the annual Dark Sky Festival. To enter, you must attend a Fountain Hills School or be a Fountain Hills resident. Students K-12 can submit drawings or paintings (no digital art) illustrating our dark sky. This year 's theme is THE NIGHT SHIFT: CRITTERS THAT CRAVE THE DARK SKY.
Festival Activities
We 've curated activities to appeal to every age group and area of interest when it comes to the night sky. Here are just a few: Passport activity for two student age groups. Visit various activities and exhibitors, get a stamp in your passport, and enter a drawing for a free bike from McDowell Mountain Cycles. Live animals: Wild at Heart, Southwest Conservation Center, Center for Native & Urban Wildlife, Arizona Bat Rescue, and more! ASU Mars Rover exhibit, Virtual Reality tours of the solar system,Solar Walk, Face painting And much more!
Online Auction Fun
Telescopes. Telescope equipment and attachments. Stargazing experiences. Great baskets filled with night sky-related items to put a smile on your face.

Star Party
What 's a Dark Sky Festival without a stellar Star Party? A dozen telescopes will be aimed at planets and deep space objects. Catch one of the three laser tours of the constellations with Ted Blank, a NASA Solar System Ambassador, and Vicky Derksen of Night Sky Tourist.
