From: Frisco's Fabulous 4th of July

If you are looking for an Independence Day in a quintessential and mellow small mountain town, then Frisco will fit the bill. With big town amenities and amazing outdoor opportunities, yet a friendly, small-town feel, Frisco is the ideal place to make 4th of July memories.

Schedule of Activities

8:00AM - 9:00AM: Free Frisco, Colorado Kids' Fishing Derby

The free Frisco, Colorado Kids' Fishing Derby will take place at Meadow Creek Park. Free fishing derby registration is now open.

The Frisco Bay Marina rents fishing poles if you do not have your own and is about a three minute drive from Meadow Creek Park. A huge thank you to Colorado Parks and Wildlife for stocking the pond before the fishing derby.

The fishing derby will take place at Meadow Creek Park (828 Meadow Drive, Frisco, CO) from 8:00am - 9:00am. The Town of Frisco partners with Colorado Parks and Wildlife to bring this July 4th fishing derby tradition to kids and their families each year in Frisco. The pond is stocked with fish.

This is for youth up to 14 years of age.
Kids should bring their own fishing poles. The Frisco Bay Marina does rent fishing poles if you do not have your own. The Marina is open from 9:00am - 5:00pm seven days a week.

About North Mississippi Allstars

After 25 years, twelve albums, four GRAMMY Award nominations, and sold out shows everywhere, North Mississippi Allstars open up their world once again on their thirteenth album, Set Sail, welcoming other family members into the fold.

As legend has it, Luther and Cody Dickinson started the band in 1996 as a loose collective of like-minded second-generation musicians who shared a local repertoire and regional style. Over the years, the lineup shifted by design, and each subsequent record offered up a different combination of collaborators. This time around, they mined the talents of Jesse Williams on bass and Lamar Williams, Jr. on vocals. During the Allman Betts Band Family Revival, the Dickinsons first linked up with Lamar, son of the Allman Brothers bassist Lamar Williams, Sr., becoming fast friends and collaborators and eventually paving the way for their newest album, Set Sail.

An Old Fashioned Day With Friends and Family

The focus of 4th of July can still be on spending the day celebrating in a simpler, small town way with friends and family. There are many great ways to celebrate Independence Day in Frisco including backyard BBQs, hikes with family, fishing, getting out on Dillon Reservoir, toasting to our independence at local restaurants, strolling Main Street, trying your hand at disc golfing on our free course, going on a chuck wagon dinner ride, taking a bike ride on over 55 miles of recreation path or on miles of singletrack dirt trails, and challenging yourself at our free bike park.
