Galerie Lelong & Co. is pleased to announce that Jaume Plensa has been invited by the Liceu to take possession of Giuseppe Verdi's Macbeth by contributing stage direction, costumes, and set design to a new staging of the opera. Verdi and Plensa's Macbeth runs through March 3, 2023 at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona, Spain.

Verdi's Macbeth was staged for the first time in 1847, marking the beginning of the composer's love affair with Shakespeare. This new production sets Plensa's iconographic universe in movement, creating a powerful setting for this theatrical tragedy, performed to music masterfully conducted by Maestro Josep Pons.

Today, at 7pm CET / 1pm EST, the performance will be livestreamed. The recording of the opera will be available to view for one month following the livestreamed performance.
