New Library Hours

Exciting news! To better serve our community, the Glendale Public Library is extending its operating hours starting Tuesday, September 5. The new schedule will be as follows:

- Mondays & Thursdays: 10 AM to 8 PM
- Tuesdays & Wednesdays: 10 AM to 4 PM
- Fridays: 10 AM to 6 PM
- Saturdays: 10 AM to 5 PM
- Sundays: 1 PM to 5 PM

 These extended hours are designed to provide enhanced access to library resources, programs, and services for all Glendale residents. We can't wait to welcome you during our extended hours and continue serving as your go-to destination for learning, discovery, and community engagement. See you soon!

 "Back to the '80s" Teen Afterhours!

Teens take over the Velma Teague Library on Friday, August 18, from 6:30-8:30 PM, during this radical celebration of the most excellent decade of them all: the '80s! Compete for a grand prize by participating in various games and challenges, including '80s Music Name That Tune, old school video game tournaments, '80s pop-culture trivia, and more. Snacks will be provided! Registration is required. Ages 12-18.

Mark your calendars for the Sizzling Summer Book Sale at the Main Library! A huge assortment of books and media with something for everyone will be on sale from 10 AM-4 PM on Saturday, August 19, and 1-4 PM on Sunday, August 20.

Library Coffeehouse

Experience acoustic music with local musicians on Monday, August 21, from 6:30-7:30 PM at the Main Library. This month's performance features the duo George and Georgia, bringing you acoustic tunes with a jazz vibe. Following their act, Bill Francis will perform a mix of classic rock, folk, and country melodies.

Frank Talk: Voting Access — What If Voting Were Mandatory?

Voting is an essential part of the electoral process. Imagine a scenario where all Arizonans are required to vote. You are responsible for voter turnout. How do you keep voters informed? How do you ensure they get to the polls? Let’s talk about what it means to have access to voting and voting information on Monday, August 28, from 6:30-8 PM at the Foothills Library.

Need something new to read? Looking for something to do? We’ve got you covered! Request a Teen Book Box at your home library and receive a box filled with cool stuff to keep, including a craft/activity, plus three library books to borrow, chosen just for you by your personal teen librarian! Limit one box per teen, per month. Boxes are available only to teens, ages 12-18. A valid email address and library card number must be provided. Don’t have a library card yet? Register online and pick up your card when you pick up your box!

Tween & Teen Back to School Stress Relief Crafts

Does going back to school have you a little stressed out? Come to the Foothills Library on Monday, August 21, from 6-7 PM to create a DIY stress ball and a personal journal to help relieve some of that stress! Ages 10-18.

Back to School Perler Bead Keychains!

Go back to school in style with a personalized perler bead keychain for your backpack! Create a unique design perfect for you at the Velma Teague Library on Thursday, August 24, from 4-5 PM. Ages 7-12.

Fun Family Painting

Bring your family and friends to paint together at the Heroes Regional Park Library! On Saturday, August 19, from 2-3:30 PM, we will use sponges and paper shapes to create a fantasy world of hidden treasures.

Family Book Bingo!

Children and families are invited to an exciting hour of Book Bingo at the Velma Teague Library on Thursday, August 31, from 5-6 PM! Prizes will include books and loot from the library treasure chest.
