Since 1952 Fairbanks has celebrated its founding with a series of activities in July known as Golden Days. Golden Days boasts exciting events for all ages, including the biggest parade in Alaska, a street fair, and a rubber duckie race along the Chena river am:ong many other fun activities.

Golden Days 2024 festivities will be held the week of July 13-20th.

July 13,2024

5:30pm-8:00pm: Felixcon

Join us on Saturday, July 13th at 5:30 pm:to celebrate the start of Golden Days with Felix-Con, a Felix-Pedro look-a-like contest and bar crawl. If you have a nice mustache like Felix Pedro or come dressed in your best old-timey clothes, you can enter the contest and possibly win a cash prize The more people that enter, the larger the prize. We will visit Fairbanks' favorite watering holes on a bar crawl and the winner of the contest will be announced at the end of the night.

Leading up to the week of Golden Days the Fairbanks Chamber will hide a poke in a secret spot in the Fairbanks area. Beginning on a Monday the Chamber will release one clue per day up to 5 days. The winner must redeem the scroll representing the poke in exchange for a Gold Nugget at the Fairbanks Chamber office.

Join us Wednesday, as a spectator or participant in this year’s Old Tyme Games presented by Golden Heart Utilities

Registration starts at 5:15pm near Gold Rush Town and the gazebo with events starting at 6:00pm. Limited spots available on first-come first-serve basis.

The Golden Days Street Fair provides the community a chance to browse vendors with various goods, services, and information. We'll have a variety of food trucks to satisfy every appetite, and you can enjoy listening and watching on-stage entertainment from some of Fairbanks’ most talented music and dance groups on the stage.

The community comes together with Golden Days Themed floats in a parade starting at the Carlson Center. Join the fun and build a float of your own.

3:00pm: Rubber Duckie Race

Over $30,000 worth of prizes provided by generous sponsors and local businesses. Try your luck and get a ticket for the winning duck this year. Each year 8,000 rubber ducks are dropped into the Chena River and race down to Cushman Street Bridge. Prizes are awarded to the first forty ducks, and the pink and yellow ticket holders associated with those duck's numbers Pink tickets are $5 and yellow tickets are $10.
