Governor Glenn Youngkin to Attend the Farnborough International Air Show

RICHMOND, VA - Governor Glenn Youngkin today announced that he will be attending the Farnborough International Air Show. At the air show, he will meet with aerospace principals, defense companies and other industry leaders. Governor Glenn Youngkin will be visiting England from Sunday, July 21st to Thursday, July 25th. 

“Our nation’s top aerospace and defense companies call the Commonwealth home and I look forward to growing our connections with industry leaders, recruiting new companies and showcasing what Virginia has to offer,” said Governor Glenn Youngkin. “Virginia was just named the top state for business in large part due to our record job growth, over $74 billion in capital investment from companies, workforce development, and excellent education system. Therefore, any companies looking to expand their footprint should choose Virginia, the choice is undeniable.”  

Over the past decade, 68 aerospace and UAS projects have been announced in Virginia, representing over 4,200 jobs and over $850 million in investment. The Commonwealth is home to top aerospace and defense leaders including: General Dynamics, Boeing, Silent Falcon UAS Technologies, Raytheon, Dynamic Aviation Group, Rocket Lab USA, Blue Origin, Firefly Aerospace, Drone Up, Aery Aviation and MAG Aerospace. Located on Virginia’s Eastern Shore is also the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport and the NASA Wallops Flight Facility, which is one of only five locations in the United States licensed by the FAA to launch spacecraft into orbital trajectories. Additionally, the Commonwealth boasts the NASA Langley Research Center, the National Institute of Aerospace, and the Virginia Modeling, Analysis, and Simulation Center.
