TOPEKA - On June 21, 2024, Governor Laura Kelly announced 12 appointments to the following state authority, committee, commissions, and board.

Kansas Water Authority
Purpose: To review plans for the development, management, and use of the water resources of the state by any state or local agency.

- John Bailey, Pittsburg (reappointment)

- Jean Steiner, Manhattan (reappointment)

- Allan Soetart, Gardner (reappointment)

- Allen Roth, Hays (reappointment)

Literary Advisory Committee
Purpose: To monitor the progress of literacy training for in-service and pre-service teachers and literacy education of elementary and secondary students.

- Suzanne Myers, Lawrence

Supreme Court Nominating Commission
Purpose: To recommend qualified individuals for appointment to the Kansas Supreme Court.

- Carol Marinovich, Kansas City (reappointment)

Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board
Purpose: To protect the public’s health, safety, and welfare from unlawful or unprofessional practitioners who fall under the boards’ jurisdiction.

- Donna Hoener-Queal, Pratt (reappointment)

- Laura Shaughnessy, Roeland Park (reappointment)

Commission on Peace Officers’ Standards and Training
Purpose: To oversee law enforcement training in the State of Kansas.
