TOPEKA - On July 2, 2024, Governor Laura Kelly announced 7 appointments to the following state boards. 

Washburn University Board of Regents
Purpose: To manage property, estate, and funds given, transferred, and pledged to the university. 

- Linda Jeffrey, Topeka 

Kansas Board of Nursing
Purpose: To protect the public’s health, safety, and welfare through the licensure and regulation process of the nursing professions. 

- Andrea Pettey-Watson, Shawnee (reappointment)
- Dr. Amy Hite, Pittsburg

Wichita State University Board of Trustees
Purpose: To manage property, estate, and funds given, transferred, and pledged to the university. 

- Junette Everett, Wichita (reappointment)
- Tracee Adams, Wichita (reappointment)
- Kevin McWhorter, Wichita (reappointment) 

Long-Term Care Ombudsman
Purpose: To advocate for residents of long-term care facilities including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, residential care facilities, and boarding care homes.
