Baton Rouge, LA – Governor Jeff Landry sent a letter to President Henry and Speaker DeVillier asking them to join him in creating a "Fiscal Responsibility Program". The program will first begin by examining the current services state government is mandated to perform and probe for the most efficient, modern ways to provide those services. This project will also explore whether those services should still exist and what other services our government might perform to give the best possible service at the lowest, most reasonable cost.

"Together, we can take bold steps to make our state more competitive. By identifying new savings, eliminating waste, and streamlining government operations, we can build a leaner, more effective government,” said Governor Landry. “This will create the space for even more substantial tax reductions in the future. I look forward to working with our legislative leaders on this critical issue."
