Governor Patrick Morrisey Announces Logan and Wayne Counties Receive Major Disaster Declaration

Charleston, W.Va. – Governor Patrick Morrisey announced on Mar 10th, that the federal government accepted his request for Individual Assistance in Logan and Wayne counties. Individual Assistance has already been approved in McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, and Wyoming counties. Other counties in Morrisey’s original request still remain under consideration by FEMA. The Individual Assistance (IA) Program provides funds to individuals experiencing significant damage to homes or property.

“I’m grateful to the Trump administration for approving my request for recovery assistance in Logan and Wayne counties” said Governor Morrisey. “The Individual Assistance program will provide relief to those in need and aid our recovery efforts across southern West Virginia.”  

FEMA will begin accepting applications for Individual Assistance in Logan and Wayne counties. They will also be on the ground to assess potential sites for Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs).
