From: Colorado Governor Jared PolisDENVER - Today, Governor Polis appointed John G. Scott to the Lake County Court in the 5th Judicial District. The vacancy was created by the appointment of the Honorable Jonathan Shamis to the 5th Judicial District Court and is effective immediately.
Mr. Scott is a Solo Practitioner, a position he has held since 2003. His practice consists primarily of criminal defense. Previously, he was an Attorney with Rothgerber, Johnson & Lyons LLP (2003); Counsel for the U.S. Government military trial courts (2007-2010); Inspector-Instructor at Buckley Air Force Base (2005-2006); Senior Prosecutor for the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force (2004); Attorney with Berger Financial Group, Inc. (2002-2003); Attorney with Meridian Investment Management Corp. (2000-2002); Attorney with Hall & Evans, LLC and Kennedy & Christopher, P.C. (1998-2000); Military Prosecutor for Camp Pendleton (1996-1998); Deputy Director, Joint Legal Assistance Office (1995-1996). Mr. Scott earned his B.A. from the University of Colorado in 1987 and his J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 1995.
