From: Colorado Governor Jared PolisDENVER - Governor Jared Polis is looking forward in his 2023 State of the State Address to the Colorado General Assembly. Gov. Polis is laying out bold goals for his second term, challenging us to envision what we want Colorado to look like at the end of his term and when the state turn 150.
“When Colorado reaches our 150th birthday in 2026, we want to be a place where freedoms are not only protected but expanded, where housing is affordable for every budget, where every kid has access to a quality education, where our water resources support our farms, communities, and industries, where we have lower health care costs and taxes, where workers have access to the skills needed to get a good-paying job that supports them and supports the needs of businesses, and every person lives in a safe community,” said Governor Jared Polis.
Governor Polis is joined today by various guests from across Colorado including advocates for affordable and quality health care, parents of school-aged children, community leaders, members of law enforcement, home builders, and local elected officials.
The Governor is especially touched to be joined today in the House chamber by survivors of the Club Q shooting.
“Colorado can help shape our country’s quest to become a more perfect union by leading by example, setting the pace of progress, fighting for liberty, and delivering the results Coloradans demand of us. In 2023, the State of our state is undeniably strong, but we know it can be even stronger. Our potential is limitless,” said Governor Polis.
