TALLAHASSEE, FL - On February 10 2025, Governor Ron DeSantis announces two judicial appointments:

Jack Schlechter, of Niceville, to serve as Judge on the First Judicial Circuit Court

Schlechter has served as a County Court Judge for Okaloosa County since 2022. Previously, he was an attorney at AnchorsGordon, P.A. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and his juris doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law. Schlechter fills the judicial vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Bergosh.

Chris Miller, of Daytona Beach, to serve as Judge on the Seventh Judicial Circuit Court

Miller has served as a County Court Judge for Volusia County since 2018. Previously, he served as an Assistant State Attorney in the Seventh Judicial Circuit. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee and his juris doctor from Stetson University. Miller fills the judicial vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Perkins.
