ST. PAUL, MN - Governor Tim Walz today announced the appointment of Emily Froehle as District Court Judge in Minnesota’s Fourth Judicial District. Froehle will replace the Honorable Kristin A. Siegesmund and will be chambered in Minneapolis in Hennepin County.

“It is my honor to appoint Emily Froehle to the Hennepin County bench,” said Governor Walz. “As someone who has served as both a prosecutor and public defender, she will be a judge who deeply understands the people who appear before the court and will work to reach equitable outcomes for all.”

Minnesota’s Fourth Judicial District encompasses Hennepin County.

Emily Froehle is an assistant county attorney in the Dakota County Attorney’s Office, where she prosecutes serious felony matters. She was previously an assistant public defender in Hennepin County and a law clerk for the Honorable Gina M. Brandt and the Honorable Mark S. Wernick in Minnesota’s Fourth Judicial District. She is a member of the MSBA’s Access to Justice Committee, the Hennepin County Bar Association Bar Memorial Committee, and the MSBA General Assembly. Her community involvement includes volunteering at Cornerstone and serving as a mock trial judge for both the MSBA and YMCA.
