Greenwich Historical Society is excited to announce "Rediscover Greenwich," a new series of interactive programs created in partnership with Untapped New York that showcase the unique history of Greenwich, Connecticut, neighborhoods, architectural landmarks, and includes walking tours and unique art installations, exhibitions and talks.

Opening April 5: The first program that is part of the "Rediscover Greenwich" series is "Re-Framing 95," an interactive art installation on the Greenwich Historical Society campus, including the National Historic Landmark Bush-Holley House, and includes fun and informative guided walking tours from the Cos Cob train station to the Greenwich Historical Society campus. An interactive installation around the Greenwich Historical Society campus featuring a series of floating frames positioned to highlight historic elements of the landscape and vistas (now dominated by I-95), create a unique juxtaposition of the scenic views from the Greenwich Historical Society campus. The art installation, created by Untappped New York artist-in-residence Aaron Asis, reframes these historic views, challenging visitors to consider the highway not as an obstruction, but as an evolving element in the town's historical tapestry. Guided tours on Saturday, April 5, and Sunday, April 6, are led by Justin Rivers, Untapped New York's chief experience officer.

Opening May 4: A second program is "Rediscover Greenwich Avenue," which is an exciting venture where historic buildings along Greenwich Avenue will become canvases for large-scale murals, featuring archival images of what those buildings looked like in the past, with text drawn from the Historical Society's collections and offering interactive QR codes for scanning that provide additional unique stories. The murals, designed by Untapped New York's artist-in-residence Aaron Asis, will debut in conjunction with a new series of guided walking tours of Greenwich Avenue that explore the history of the Avenue and its local businesses. The tours are led by Justin RIvers, Untapped New York's chief experience officer and Christoper Shields, Greenwich Historical Society's director of Library Archives. The tours will be offered Sundays, May 4, May 18, June 15 and July 27.

Additional information on these two exciting programs is below in the following news release. We hope you can share this news with your community.
