The Blaschkas at the Microscope: Lessons in Botany
New exhibit - Opens Saturday, April 20
Step back in time to the late 19th century and marvel at the exquisite craftsmanship of Leopold and Rudolf Blaschka, renowned creators of the mesmerizing Ware Collection of Blaschka Glass Models of Plants. Delve into their captivating educational models that meticulously illustrate the life cycles of non-flowering, spore-forming plants and fungi. After nearly a quarter century, these remarkable state-of-the-art teaching models make a triumphant return to the spotlight in the Glass Flowers Gallery of the Harvard Museum of Natural History. Behold the timeless beauty and intricate detail of these models, which continue to enchant and educate visitors just as they did over a century ago.

Reading Genetic Tea Leaves In Person and Virtual Lecture
Thursday, May 2, 6:00–7:00 pm
Natural populations harbor extensive genetic diversity. In humans, these genetic differences are being used to predict some individual traits, such as height; cancer risk; and even educational attainment. Population geneticist Molly Przeworski will introduce the idea behind these predictions and highlight some of their pitfalls, notably the difficulty of disentangling genetic and environmental effects. She will also discuss how similar approaches can be used to predict the response of non-model organisms to strong selection pressures from climate change, with an example from corals.

The Harvard Crimson's CJS is a two-day hybrid event for high school reporters of all experience levels. Participants will engage in workshops, simulations, and seminars led by Crimson Editors and Executives across our content boards. Besides learning from experienced college journalists, students will also have the chance to interact with professional journalists—namely, notable Crimson Alumni from top publications such as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, and more.

Join us for Harvard University’s ARTS FIRST Festival!
Produced by the Office for the Arts at Harvard, this annual campus-wide event takes place April 24-28 and showcases the expansive creativity and innovation of Harvard students, staff, alums and faculty. Enjoy the dynamic imagination and cultural expression at the heart of this festival by visiting many of the university’s iconic indoor and outdoor spaces transformed by artmaking and open for all to explore.
Headlining events include a Drag Show emcee'd by environmental activist Pattie Gonia and Drag Queen Story Hour with Boston's Lilly Rose Valore, Jazz on the Plaza, a Performance Fair of short interdisciplinary performances taking place simultaneously on 10 stages throughout the day, and much more.
The festival is open to all, family-friendly and mostly free (some ticketed events charge for admission.) The majority of events are also accessible for wheelchairs and other mobility devices.

The poet and the professor will discuss the history of Mrs. Phillis Wheatley and the friends and associates she communicated with. This event includes a lecture, poetry workshop, seed give away and garden walk. This National Poetry Month event will take place both in-person and online (lecture and workshop only).
Toni Bee is a poet, workshop facilitator, and a Poet Populist emeritus of Cambridge, MA as well as its Inaugural Poetry Ambassador. Nicole Aljoe is a Professor of English and Africana Studies at Northeastern University. They are co-authors of the article "Reading and Teaching Phillis Wheatley Peters in Boston," published in the journal Early American Literature.

14th Annual Dance for World Community Festival

J.P. Licks releases a brand new ice cream flavor - Birthday Cake - to celebrate their 25th year of roasting coffee. Sweet birthday cake ice cream with pieces of yellow cake, rainbow sprinkles, and ripples of buttercream frosting make for a great way to celebrate something every day!

Are you ready to take your bow with Revels? Come audition for the Midwinter Revels Adult Chorus! Auditions are open to anyone over 18, and we are looking for performers from a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and experience levels - the only requirement to audition is a love for singing!

The Adult Chorus is an integral part of Midwinter Revels and will perform 15 shows in Harvard Square's historic Sanders Theatre in December 2024.
