Dear Friends of Heritage,

A big warm welcome to Second Summer!

Labor Day may be the unofficial end of summer, but everything that you love about Heritage Museums & Gardens continues into this glorious season of blue skies, crisp air, and end of summer colors.

News Flash: Gardens Aglow sales dates announced in this issue. Read on!

Perhaps you had housefuls of guests this summer, like we did. Our guests’ favorites at Heritage included Impressionist New England, Alfie Glover in the Garden, the gardens, and the newly opened Adventure Park. I climbed five separate times with family and friends. What joy to follow my adult son through the treetops and coach my friend as she made her way behind me. We did it, together!

Now, I'm looking forward to Cocktails for Cars, a celebration of vehicles owned by discerning collectors, on Saturday, September 14. We close at 2 pm that day to make way for the incoming parade of cars, trucks, and vintage motorcycles. Join us to talk with the vehicle owners about their car's story. Sometimes it is a family history of ownership back to the 1930s, sometimes a story of stumbling upon a model at auction and restoring it to former glory. We thank these owners for showing their vehicles to benefit our Adopt a Car Fund for auto restoration.

Whether you wish to try out the Adventure Park, are planning a weekend escape to the Cape, or are looking to be inspired by art, beauty, and nature, come to enjoy Second Summer! You'll find a host of family-friendly events and programs. I’ll see you in the gardens.
