Heritage's Adventure Park Ruling - Letter from Anne Scott-Putney, President & CEO

Dear Heritage Members and Friends,

I am thrilled to share exciting news about the Adventure Park at Heritage.

Last week, Barnstable County Superior Court Judge Elaine Buckley ruled that Heritage can go forward with our plans to reopen the Adventure Park. Specifically, the judge ruled that the Sandwich Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) acted appropriately when it issued a special permit in 2019 to Heritage and its partner, Outdoor Ventures, to operate the park as a “small-scale recreational facility”.

The Sandwich Halloween Festival:

Ticket Pre-Sale Begins Tomorrow!

Tickets will be available by special advance sale to Heritage Museums & Gardens members and members of the Sandwich Public Schools community (watch your email inbox if you are part of either of these groups for details on how to purchase!) at 8 am tomorrow, Thursday, September 14. Tickets will go on sale to the general public at 8 am on Wednesday, September 20. We expect this popular event to sell out quickly again this year!

Join Heritage's Director of Collections & Exhibitions Jennifer Madden, and author and historian James O'Connell for a fascinating discussion inspired by our Creating Cape Cod exhibit. Jennifer and James will look back to a time over a hundred years ago when the Cape’s faltering economy and dropping population prompted the decision by community leaders to promote tourism as the answer to the region’s woes.
