SUBJECT:  Holiday Reminders to Keep Everyone Full of Cheer!

OLYMPIA, WA - For those holiday traditions that include decorations and goodies for your pets to get into, Animal Services offers these reminders:

- If candles fill your house, make sure to keep your pets away. A wagging tail or jumping cat can knock over candles and easily start a fire.

- Decorated trees are full of tantalizing temptations. Place the tree in an area your pets can’t get to it, or create barriers around the tree and always supervise your pets when they are near it.

-  Resist the urge to give your pets any table scraps including bones.  Meat fat and chocolate in any quantity can be a problem for dogs.

- Remember that many of those pretty holiday plants pose a health risk.
