In response to House Republicans passing their disastrous budget reconciliation bill that puts South Carolina families last, South Carolina Democratic Party Chair Christale Spain released the following statement:

“Last night, South Carolina’s Nancy Mace, Joe Wilson, Sheri Biggs, William Timmons, Ralph Norman and Russell Fry, along with House Republicans showed their true colors – leaving South Carolina working families in the dust while they cater to their ultra-wealthy backers. House Republicans voted to move forward with their disastrous, Trump-endorsed reconciliation bill that will rip away health care from South Carolinians and make lives harder for the constituents they were elected to protect. Now, Trump is emptying the pockets of South Carolinians who need it to give out massive tax handouts to his billionaire backers like Elon Musk. If just three House Republicans had grown a spine last night, they could have put a stop to this corruption.”
