From: Hui Mo’olelo Film Festival?Join us for the unveiling of a new collection of animated film shorts that celebrate L?hain? history, culture and sense of place.
The result of our most recent call to artists, these animations stem from the Hui Mo’olelo: L?hain? program partnership amongst the County of Maui, Hale H??ike?ike at the Bailey House / Maui Historical Society, Maui Public Art Corps and Lahaina Restoration Foundation. Led by Kalapana Kollars and Anuhea Yagi, a new cohort of storytellers were trained and paired with intergenerational partners to audio-record memories rooted in L?hain?.
Selected by a community panel, artists Richard O’Connor, Sasha Hercik, Jenna Lee, Syril Pecson, Zach Quemado, and Abby Worthley will bring this collection to life.
Stories feature:
