A feast for winter-weary eyes, our 29th annual Sea & Sky Juried Art Show celebrates the beauty of our coastal environment and the richness of the artistic community on the South Shore and beyond.
All media are welcome. Artists may submit three works of art for consideration in the juried exhibition. All work must be original, and not previously exhibited at HLM. No reproductions will be accepted. Don't miss your opportunity to participate in this great late winter show!

A feast for the eyes, our 29th Annual Sea & Sky Juried Art Show, juried by renowned artist and curator T.A. Charron, showcases over 70 stunning works of art selected from nearly 120 entries by talented artists from the South Shore and beyond. The exhibit celebrates the breathtaking beauty of our coastal environment.
This annual show offers a fantastic opportunity for art enthusiasts to purchase original works in various mediums, including paintings, photography, sculpture, and mixed media, all while supporting the local art community and the Hull Lifesaving Museum. Last year, nearly half of the pieces on display were sold, so be sure to arrive early to claim a new addition to your collection.

We are thrilled to announce that this highly requested workshop, led by retired Air Force Lt. Col. Mike Davison, a respected figure in our community and an accomplished wood carver, is returning by popular demand! Join us for an inspiring three-hour session where participants will have the opportunity to create their very own "Comfort Birds." These charming little carvings, designed to fit snugly in the palm of your hand, serve as heartfelt tokens of affection and support for those in need.
This workshop not only allows you to hone your craftsmanship skills but also fosters connections among participants, emphasizing the community-oriented spirit of The Hull Lifesaving Museum. Come experience the rich maritime heritage of Hull while crafting a symbol of hope that embodies our mission of inclusivity and support!

The Hull Lifesaving Museum's signature rowing event, the Snow Row, will take place on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the tip of Hull's peninsula. Featuring a unique LeMans-style start, the race covers a 3.75-mile triangular course, starting and finishing off the beach at the Windmill Point Boathouse.
The Snow Row celebrates traditional boats and rowers, with participants including experienced youth and adult crews from New England, New York, and along the East Coast. Spectators can enjoy the action from the Windmill Point Boathouse or aboard the spectator boat. This thrilling event offers an exciting experience for both participants and onlookers alike.

Back by popular demand! The perfect spot to watch the race unfold. Consider it an "on-the-water" ski lodge where ticketed guests can go to warm up in between excursions to the beach to check out the boats. Everyone should be onboard by 11:45 am, 15 minutes before the start of the race.

Please join us as we discuss and explore one of the simplest but elusive mindfulness practices. This is the ability to see things as they really are and setting aside the obstacles to being truly free. Our guide for this journey will be Radical Acceptance: Embracing Your Life With the Heart of a Buddha by Tara Brach.
Whether you are new to Buddhist philosophy and mindfulness or an experienced practitioner, you'll find this workshop and group meaningful and rewarding. Sean's classes are fun, welcoming, and informative.

Join Sean Baggett as he leads this walking tour as we look to uncover the network of forts and sites that make up Fortress Boston, through the evolution of Boston Harbor defenses in response to ever-changing geopolitical threats - from the Puritans through the Cold War and Counter Terrorism. Check the weather and dress appropriately and wear walking shoes. Bring a camera and binoculars if you have them. (In case of inclement weather, the walking tour will be held the following day at the same time.)

See Boston Harbor with fresh eyes from a unique perspective. Join us for the rare opportunity to learn about the wildlife that exists right off our coast as we cruise among the islands and shorelines of the outer edges of Boston Harbor. No need to drive into Boston to catch this boat, we will be departing from Pemberton Pier in Hull for this fun adventure. Spring is a unique time of year to take in breathtaking scenery, observe a variety of migrating birds and seals basking on rocky outcroppings.

The museum's Summer Adventure Program offers seven weeks of discovery and exploration for children ages 5-11. Summer Adventure meets Tuesday - Thursday with two options: our regular morning program from 9:30 - 12:30 pm or our extended 9:30 - 3:00 pm program with a different theme each week. Each week includes hands-on activities, outdoor exploration, and a fun mix of history, science, and arts. Sign up for as few or as many weeks as you wish.

The museum's Summer Explorer Program is an exciting and engaging opportunity for young people ages 12-16 to learn about the natural and cultural history of Boston Harbor while developing maritime skills.
This 7-week program offers a different area of focus each week with all programming originating at our HLM Windmill Point Boathouse including our fleet of open water rowing vessels, the boathouse, the harbor and harbor islands. Areas of focus include: safety on the water, rowing and commanding (coxing) open water rowing craft, operating outboard powered boats, harbor piloting and navigation, marine environment, boat maintenance and boat building, while making connections to each other, to our past, and to our future.

Summer Adventure Program:
Applicants must be at least 16 years old and be available for an in-person interview. Interest in nature, science, art, and working with children ages 5-11 is a must!
Summer Explorer Program:
Applicants must be at least 16 years old and be available for an in-person interview. Knowledge of boating, rowing, water-based activities, nature, science, art, and working with youth ages 12-16 is a must!
