ICYMI: Arizona Democratic Party Names All-Women Electors Slate

ARIZONA – The Arizona Democratic Party recently announced an all-woman slate of Democratic electors that would elect the first female President in the history of the United States of America. The names of the Arizona Democratic Party’s electors are as follows: 

  • Yolanda Bejarano, Chairwoman of the Arizona Democratic Party
  • State Sen. Priya Sundareshan, Co-chair of the Arizona Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee
  • Adelita Grijalva, Pima County Supervisor
  • Amelia Flores, Chairwoman of the Colorado River Indian Tribes
  • Coral Evans, former Flagstaff Mayor
  • Dora Vasquez, Executive Director of the Arizona Alliance for Retired Americans
  • Doreen Garlid, Vice Mayor of Tempe
  • Maria Valdez, former Communications Workers of America member and Commissioner of the Industrial Commission of Arizona
  • Constance DeLarge, Co-Chair of the African American Caucus of the Arizona Democratic Party
  • Marisol Garcia, President of the Arizona Education Association
  • Molly McGovern, Deputy Political Director of the United Food and Commercial Workers union

  • Arizona’s political party chiefs have named their presidential electors.
  • And while the lists contain the usual assortment of party stalwarts and average citizens, something stood out about the Democratic electors: They are all female.
  • That was intentional.
  • “There is so much on the line this election— including a woman’s right to choose what she does with her own body without government interference,” party Chairwoman Yolanda Bejarano, herself an elector, said in a statement.
  • “Each of these women have been stewards of democratic values in Arizona and have been a part of the fight to move our state forward.“
