Government and Politics

Columbus, Ohio - In case you missed it, last week NBC 4 highlighted Ohio gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy’s little-known nonprofit that was established to “stop the government and media from lying.” Despite dodging those topics on the campaign trail, it’s clear Ramaswamy is an avid conspiracy theorist who is too extreme for Ohio.
Ramaswamy’s nonprofit, Stand for Truth, features a laundry list of conspiracy theories, from the origin of COVID-19 to January 6th. Instead of working to help Ohio’s working families ahead of his run for governor, Ramaswamy instead worked to appeal to the most extreme corners of his party while leaving Ohioans behind.
“While our state’s working families suffer, Ramaswamy would rather share extreme conspiracies than help Ohioans,” said Ohio Democratic Party spokeswoman Katie Seewer. “He’s running away from his own organization because he knows it’s too extreme for Ohio voters. Democrats will make sure voters know what Ramaswamy really stands for.
