Government and Politics

October 11, 2024

ARIZONA -– This week’s “heaping helping of disaster” for Kari Lake was her own “utter disaster”’ debate performance underscored that she is a power-hungry liar who will do or say anything to boost herself – even when it hurts Arizonans.

Arizonans know they can’t trust Kari Lake to protect our reproductive rights – she can’t even pronounce “IVF” correctly:

Oops: Kari Lake Says She Wants To Protect vUVFf In Arizona Senate Debate

  • HuffPost: “Lake’s misstatements came during an exchange on the issue of abortion after Gallego noted her support for bans on the procedure in the past, including Arizona’s century-old abortion ban that had no exceptions for rape or incest.

  • Jezebel: “…Lake all know that abortion is a losing issue for them, so they’ll say anything else if they think it will help them win. Lake’s desperate, rambling answer sums up the 2024 election pretty perfectly.”

  • Heartland Signal: Kari Lake says she supports universal access to ‘UVF’ thrice during debate. “Lake’s stances on abortion are among the most extreme for MAGA Republicans who are nominated this cycle, as she’s frequently criticized the fact that Arizona’s “draconian” abortion ban from 1864 was not enforced.”

Kari Lake refused to admit she lost the 2022 gubernatorial election:

WATCH

STAN BARNES: The fact that she still believes she should be the governor and thinks that she is the legitimate governor and is still contesting the 2022 election. I think that’s political kryptonite for Kari Lake in a very difficult spot […]”

HOST: “Why do you say that that’s the kryptonite, that specific issue?”

STAN BARNES: “Because A, we’ve never seen it before as Arizona voters. We’ve never experienced that moment where the person who lost the last race, will not concede that, and is litigating that, and wears the crown of I really should be the governor and the governor that’s there is not legitimate. It feels like a whole separate universe of crazy and most Arizonans want to just move forward and most Arizonans trust the election system to yield the outcome. So I think it feels like something she cannot overcome with a number of voters, enough to make a difference.”

At the debate, Kari was “was vintage Lake:”

WATCH

Chuck Coughlin: “She’s a TV personality.”

Anchor: “Do you think that did her, was there any maybe someone who would walk away from the debate saying you know I didn’t like that, that gave me a negative vibe about her and I don’t like that. Someone is cutting someone off.”

Coughlin: “I think that is a part of her problem with the electorate right now, that she’s been doing this now, essentially for three years since the conclusion of the last election. This has been going on and on, two years, into that election and then through that election, and this is who she is, that is her personality. I think it’s worn thin on a bunch of the electorate who wants more.”

WATCH

MIKE NOBLE: “The issue is more so is that Lake just has a brand problem and I think she has a moderate Republican problem and then with Independents, so kind of outside of her populist base – she does great there, don’t get me wrong – but it’s with all those folks in the middle you kind of need to win in the general, that’s where I think the current struggle is.”

  • KTAR: HOST: “Long time Valley political expert Chuck Coughlin told Arizona’s Morning News the most memorable line from last night’s debate came from Lake. She claimed she’s never lied to the people of Arizona.” CHUCK COUGHLIN: “I just started laughing out loud when I saw that…”

  • MSNBC: After debate debacle, Kari Lake’s campaign limps to the finish line. “…the lasting image Lake left with voters — on the largest platform she’ll have had this cycle — is one of a deranged and self-obsessed conspiracy theorist who’s ignorant about one of the most significant issues in politics: reproductive rights.

  • Arizona Republic Opinion: Kari Lake showed Arizona why she’s just not all that likeable. “But she turns off moderate voters with her factually challenged fear mongering …”

  • Tucson Sentinel Opinion: Borderline personality: Lake goes full Kari in Arizona Senate debate. “JHC, this woman can’t go to the U.S. Senate […] People like Lake just aren’t serious. ”

  • Arizona Republic: Kari Lake ‘practicing her filibuster’ in Senate debate with Ruben Gallego, past rival says. “She was combative and she was confrontational…”
