Lana Keesling Elected Chairwoman of the Indiana Republican Party

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Republican Party is proud to announce the unanimous election of Lana Keesling as the next Chairwoman of the Indiana Republican State Committee.

Chairwoman Keesling, currently the City Clerk of Fort Wayne, brings a strong fundraising record to the role. She successfully laid claim to a long-held Democrat seat, becoming the city's first Republican Clerk since 1971, defeating a well-funded opponent in the process.

Having served as Vice Chair of the Allen County Republican Party and Treasurer of the 3rd District Republican Congressional Committee, Chairwoman Keesling has extensive experience with grassroots organizing and is determined to be a key link between local party leaders and statewide officials.

Before entering public service, Chairwoman Keesling held an executive position in a private company, managing finances, information technology, and human resources, and earning both a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and an MBA. She also brings entrepreneurial experience to the role, having been a small business owner for ten years. Chairwoman Keesling is also a devoted wife, mother to seven children, and grandmother to eleven grandchildren.

“I am deeply honored by the trust Governor Braun and the Indiana Republican State Committee have placed to serve as our party's Chairwoman,” said Chairwoman Keesling. “I have always been a firm believer in our party's agenda, and I am deeply grateful to have this opportunity to grow our party and deliver for Hoosiers. As Chairwoman, my first priority will always be to listen to and represent our entire state, and I am certain that together we can create an even stronger, more collaborative, and more effective party."

Governor Mike Braun congratulated Chairwoman Keesling’s on her election, stating, “I congratulate Lana Keesling on her election as the Chairwoman of the Indiana Republican Party. I commend the State Committee for their decision and appreciated the opportunity to work with them to find leadership for our party. Lana is a leader who understands commitment, service, and hard work. She will be a tremendous asset to our grassroots leaders and all Hoosier Republicans.”

Former Interim-Chairwoman Erin Lucas will be returning to serve as Vice Chair.
