(West Palm Beach, FL – March 7, 2025) With the mission of Empowering Voters, Defending Democracy, the League of Women Voters of Palm Beach County (LWVPBC) welcomed more than 200 friends and supporters to its annual I STAND WITH THE LEAGUE Luncheon & Awards.
Keely Gideon-Taylor, Community Relations Manager for The Palm Beach Post and Gannett Southeast Florida Properties, served as Honorary Chair of the nonprofit organization’s fund-raising luncheon, which was held on February 26 at the Marriott West Palm Beach.
One highlight of the fun and informative event was the juicy dialogue between MSNBC’s legal reporter and former weekend anchor Katie Phang and author/historian Dr. Robert Watson, an award-winning professor at Lynn University—by Joel Engelhardt, founder, editor, and reporter for Stet News. Following their insightful chat, LWVPBC President Kathi Gundlach presented the League’s prestigious Mavericks & Heroes Award to both Phang and Watson.
Sponsors and underwriters for this fundraising luncheon include The Palm Beach Post; FPL; Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & ShIpley P.A.; Smith Ball Baez & Prather Florida Injury Lawyers; Lesser Landy Smith & Siegel PLLC; and PR-BS, Inc.
