From: Lehigh Valley Fiber FestivalLVFF celebrates all things fiber and fabric.
Activities:
Second Saturday Spinners:
Second Saturday Spinners, a local fiber arts group, was founded as a knowledge sharing community of spinners, knitters and weavers.
Named for the monthly meeting day in Hellertown, the members demonstrate the very-much-current art of spinning at the Bethlehem Rose Garden, Farmers Market and various other festivals and markets in the Lehigh Valley. The membership is comprised of experienced spinners, knitters, weavers and sheep breeders as well as those brand new to these disciplines.
We will demo a mix of modern and older spinning wheels in addition to some various types of fiber prep work and weaving. We will have an extra wheel on hand for adults to try out and can offer some advice on wheels brought in.
Questions may be address to our email address: [email protected].

Ever wonder how your spinning skills stack up against your peers? Come join us for the inaugural Lehigh Valley Fiber Fest handspun competition!
Whether you are a youth (12 and under), a beginner (been spinning 1 year or less), or are an experienced spinner, we have a division in the competition you can join.
All entrants will receive feedback to help improve their spinning and/or presentation. Skeins are graded on presentation, technique, quality of spinning, fiber choice for type of yarn spun, and suitability of yarn for finished product. Each area receives a maximum of 20 pts (for a total of 100) with the three highest scores in each category receiving first, second, and third place. People’s Choice will be chosen via ballot during the event.
Cost: Free to Compete!
