Hall’s proposal threatens thousands of high-paying jobs and would decimate the auto industry

LANSING - Earlier today, Matt Hall released his “Closed for Business” plan that will kill thousands of good-paying auto industry jobs across Michigan and force automakers and suppliers to move their business out of state or overseas. Following his announcement, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party Lavora Barnes released the following statement: 

“Matt Hall’s ‘Closed for Business’ plan is a job killer that will result in mass layoffs if he has his way. In such an early test of leadership, Matt Hall has failed Michiganders yet again with his plan to kill thousands of middle-class jobs and hamstring Michigan’s economy. 

“The bottom line here is that Hall clearly doesn’t care about Michigan workers or their families. Governor Whitmer has shown that we can create record jobs AND fix the damn roads at the same time. 

“Michigan Dems will fight to keep those jobs here in Michigan and invest in our infrastructure because Michiganders know it’s not an either-or, we can have both.”
