Movie Producer Dick Atkins returns to Mayberry Days for this exclusive screening and stories of the making of the movie Murder in Coweta County starring Andy Griffith and Johnny Cash. There are opportunities to watch the movie and get a unique behind the scenes look at the making of this production and working with Andy Griffith including photos from the movie production. The event includes a Question & Answer session and sales of DVDs and movie posters.
Based on a true story, Murder in Coweta County features Andy Griffith as you’ve rarely seen him, in one of his most dramatic roles! In 1948, Coweta County, Georgia, is watched over by it legendary, indomitable Sheriff Lamar Potts (Johnny Cash). In the next county, a vast estate known as "The Kingdom," is ruled by John Wallace (Andy Griffith), whose power is absolute. But when Wallace chases one of his underlings to deliver ruthless punishment, he makes a critical mistake: he crosses over into Coweta County. TV Guide declared "Andy Griffith is superbly villainous; Johnny is… the ultimate lawman."

5:00 pm - 8:00 pm: MAYBERRY DAYS BUFFET DINNER AND ENTERTAINMENT with Dan Roebuck
The evening includes country buffet dinner, golf awards presentation, recognition of the Special Guests, and family friendly entertainment with Dan Roebuck.
Dinner guests have the opportunity to meet and greet the Special Guests for the first autograph session from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Avoid the long lines on Saturday! They will have memorabilia, art and photos for autographs. There is a nominal fee for autographed items during the festival.
The country buffet meal will be served from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with entertainment from 6:00-8:00 pm. The Mayberry Days Golf Tournament (aka "The Emmett") is held at Cross Creek Country Club before the dinner.
Dan Roebuck is a man of many talents - acting, producing, directing and more. As a costar on Matlock, he has plenty of stories to tell of his days working with Andy Griffith as well as other projects from his career in show business. Be prepared to laugh and enjoy a great evening's entertainment from him.

11:00 am: KAREN KNOTTS "Knotts Untied: Dad Jokes, Yarns, and Gossip"
Author-actor-comedian and daughter of your favorite television Deputy, Karen Knotts returns to Mount Airy with a new event. In this sit down talk, she reveals why it took her so long to finally write this book [Tied Up In Knotts]. She'll talk about what it was like to interview fans; her own family members; and celebrities. Excerpts from the book will be read and discussed. Karen is excited to share her soulful memoir journey for the first time at Mayberry Days.
Her book is available at the Andy Griffith Museum Gift Shop and Historic Earle Theatre. She will be autographing the book and photos after the event.

Rodney Dillard, one of the original Darling Boys from The Andy Griffith Show, returns with his band to Mayberry Days for another great bluegrass concert, filled with songs performed on the show and original Dillards hits. Rodney is a member of the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and two time Grammy Nominee. Dillardgrass - often imitated, never duplicated!

9:30 pm: TIM WHITE & TROUBLESOME HOLLOW
Troublesome Hollow is a dynamic bluegrass and Americana band from Hickory Tree, Tennessee. The band has been together for many years performing all across the eastern United States. Tim White on banjo, guitar and vocals, Donnie Ollis on guitar and vocals and his younger brother Garry Ollis on upright bass and vocals. The band performs everything from hard driving traditional bluegrass to newgrass, old time music, ballads as well as Americana and comedy. They have six recordings to their credit as well as appearing on many television shows and recently on Song of the Mountains seen across America on public television (PBS). Tim White has hosted Song of the Mountains since its beginning in 2005. Tim also hosts his nationally syndicated radio show “The Tim White Bluegrass Show” across America on 60 plus radio stations.

Neal Brower has acquired a wealth of knowledge about The Andy Griffith Show from his years of correspondence and contact with the writers, directors, cast, and crew. Don't miss this year's fascinating interviews and discussions with answers to insightful questions and clips from the show.
The first hour of this year's lecture will feature the children of TAGS writer Harvey Bullock. They will share memories of their father. The second part of the lecture will feature Margaret Teele. Margaret will be discussing her appearances on TAGS and Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C.
Neal Brower is the author of Mayberry 101 and The Essential Mayberry (scheduled release date September 5th). He has taught "The Andy Griffith Show: An Indepth Study" at Community Colleges throughout North Carolina for many years. His lectures are also presented at the Andy Griffith Museum during the summer months.

3:00 pm: DAVID & THE GIANTS
David and the Giants began as a rock band in 1963 in Laurel, Mississippi by the Huff brothers: David, Clayborn, and Rayborn. Along with Jerry Parker on drums, they toured the Southeast during the 1960s. In 1977, they switched to a Christian rock format. After 17 inspiring contemporary Christian Rock albums over 20 years, the original band disbanded bringing what looked like an end to David and the Giants. The original band, David, his twin brothers, and Keith Thibodeaux have since started performing reunion concerts across the nation and abroad.

Actor Daniel Roebuck (Cliff Lewis for the final 3 seasons of Matlock) takes a deep dive into the career of one of America’s most iconic actors.
He has played "second banana" to many famous faces like Dennis Hopper (River's Edge), Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones (The Fugitive) and Kathy Bates (The Late Shift) during his nearly 4 decades and nearly 500 movies and television episodes in Hollywood. However, it was his years working side-by-side with an American Icon, Andy Griffith, that were the most creative, and enjoyable.
