Illuminates Seven Continents with Divine Light

Anthony James, famous for setting fire to a Ferrari in a birch forest and entombing the ravaged car and trees in an installation called Kθ, is now known for being the only living artist to have artworks installed on all seven continents.

Pioneers of luxury travel in Antarctica, White Desert, have collaborated with artist Anthony James to feature a work from his Portal Series at ECHO; an upscale Eco-Camp situated in the alien landscape of Antarctica, surrounded by pitted rock formations. Futuristic and ultra-luxurious, Echo was inspired by space exploration creating the perfect setting for James' striking three-dimensional, geometric sculptures.

James' 60″ Rectified Truncated Cuboctahedron was transported from Los Angeles via Cape Town, South Africa, and loaded onto an A340 aircraft, to make the journey to Echo. “The partnership with Anthony James is an ideal collaboration for White Desert as his unique and thoughtful artwork is fitting for a location such as Antarctica and its breathtaking expanse,” says White Desert Founder Patrick Woodhead.

James says of the project: "I’m genuinely excited about installing artwork in Antarctica... When I started in the art world, I never thought that would be possible; I love the idea of unity and having my artwork on all corners of the globe represents the universal language of art."

Currently one of the most sought after artists across the word, James' work has been featured in major museum and public exhibitions including the Palm Springs Art Museum, CA; Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, AR; Imagine Museum, FL; and Museum of Art and History, CA.
