From: Methow Arts AllianceLearning Paper-Mâché: Bringing Creative Lessons to the Classroom
Bruce Morrison joined us at Methow Arts for a hands-on workshop, teaching us how to create paper-mâché animals.
This engaging session was designed to equip our Visual Art Education Specialists with a new skill they can bring directly into their classrooms.
We had a fantastic time designing our own creations & are so grateful to Bruce for sharing his expertise & inspiring us to pass this lesson on to students!
The Button Project: Creativity for a Cause
Methow Valley Elementary students, guided by Art Specialist Judith Robertson, created handmade buttons with messages of hope & resilience for first graders in North Carolina affected by Hurricane Helene.
Inspired by lessons on natural disasters & empathy, the students used art to connect & uplift a community in need.
Their colorful designs & heartfelt messages bridged miles, showing how creativity fosters compassion & understanding.
The project is a powerful example of Methow Arts’ commitment to integrating the arts into education to inspire kindness & connection.
The photo shows the first graders in North Carolina who received the buttons in the mail, a touching moment that will be featured in an article for MV Pride.
