Kash Patel will carry out Trump’s Project 2025 agenda of revenge and retribution while gutting law enforcement across Michigan

LANSING — Over the weekend, Donald Trump chose unfit, unqualified, and “frightening” extremist Kash Patel as his FBI Director to stack the Bureau with loyalists instead of using the nation’s principal law enforcement agency to actually keep Americans safe. The question now is, will the MIGOP support Trump’s agenda of revenge and retribution or will they instead stand with law enforcement, reject Patel, and push for somebody qualified and fit to become the agency’s next director?

With this newest nominee announcement, Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party Lavora Barnes released the following statement:

“Kash Patel is unqualified, unfit, and hell-bent on putting Donald Trump’s agenda ahead of the safety of the American people – while gutting law enforcement in the process. Make no mistake, Kash Patel will enact Donald Trump’s vision of turning the FBI into an agency of revenge and retribution while promising to fire any agents who put our constitution and the safety of Americans first. 

“The MIGOP has a chance to stand up for what’s right and call for Republicans in the Senate to stop Patel and ensure that our nation’s principal law enforcement agency is run by someone qualified. Now, the question becomes, will the MIGOP stand with our law enforcement agents and protect Michiganders or do they stand with Donald Trump’s Project 2025 agenda of revenge and retribution by eliminating political opponents and the free press?”
