Dancing Down Memory Lane
Roxey Ballet’s Journey Back to the 80s show debuting this weekend has Melissa Roxey dancing down memory lane, where Madonna ruled her stereo and Dirty Dancing was watched on repeat. As Melissa reflects on the days of lace tops and jelly shoes, she nostalgically recalls her teenage years that were spent pursuing her passion. As a dedicated dancer she had the “time of her life” trading traditional high school years for daily bus trips to Joffrey Ballet in New York City as she worked toward her goal of becoming a professional dancer. With limited technology, great music, and dance, dance, dance, the 80s were the decade that shaped Melissa’s future.

Director for the Day
Mill Ballet School student, Raegan Hockenjos, got the chance to be Roxey Ballet's Artistic Director for the day! She was able to get an up close behind the scenes look at the daily life of the professional dancers. She was impressed by how much choreography they learn in one day!
