What It's Like Dancing in A Roxey Ballet Production...

New to Roxey Ballet productions, 4-year-old Zoe Morrison and her family are enjoying their experience of participating in stage productions with company dancers (and we love having them!). In the short time Zoe has been dancing, the Morrison family has met new families and formed new friendships, and has felt welcome as part of the Roxey Ballet family. They have quickly bonded with the teachers and staff, and feel their family values of kindness, acceptance, and growth of mind and body are supported through their teaching.

As a young dancer, Zoe loves the feeling of being included and mentored by the older children participating in the productions. Rehearsals for young students take place in a structured, hour-long Saturday session that is fun and thoughtful and gives the children exposure to the many other dancers and participants in the show. The older children take the youngest under their wings and help them to understand expectations while also understanding their need to get the wiggles out before a cast meeting.

The Morrison family has been very generous with their volunteer hours and recognizes that availability varies from family to family and oftentimes from show to show. Participating in the production as a volunteer can be such a special bonding time with children as well as a unique and fulfilling experience for adults. Our hope at Roxey Ballet is that families enjoy the hours they spend making the shows come to life and that they take in a moment of pride as the dancers take their bows, knowing they contributed to a successful production and the creation of a life-long memory for their child.

Cinderella auditions are open to local dance students ages 4 and up and will take place on January 21, 2023, at the Roxey Event Center, 46 N Sugan Rd, New Hope, PA. More details can be found at roxeyballet.org/auditions.

Calling All Boys!

Join us for our Boys Athletic Dance Class (B.A.D.) designed to move your body in a fun and supportive environment. Improve your coordination, flexibility, strength and agility in a class welcoming male-identifying and gender nonconforming students ages 8 and up. The class is instructed by Daniel Rocha, professional dancer and teaching artist with Roxey Ballet. Daniel spent his youth growing up as a student at Mill Ballet School and hopes to "instill wonderment and nurture creativity in the students". Inspired by a current student who recently described Mill Ballet School as their "happy place", we want to know, what makes Mill Ballet School YOUR happy place? Each student that submits an answer will have their quote and photo or video featured on the Mill Ballet School social media feed and highlighted in the weekly newsletter. Participation is voluntary and not required, however, if you choose to participate please remember to include your child's name.
