Scarecrow Contest!
The scarecrow contest is a beloved tradition at the Mushroom Festival! Prizes are awarded for Outstanding in its Field (best of show), Too Ghoul for School (best youth entry), Classically Corny (funniest), and Most Likely to Scare a Crow (scariest), with all voting by Festival attendees. Are you interested in participating in the Scarecrow Contest? Email Education Manager Sara Spoden for more information.
iNaturalist Mycoblitz!
The iNaturalist mycoblitz is a complementary event to our in-person Mushroom Festival. From October 19th through October 28th, all mushroom and lichen observations in Lane County that are uploaded to iNaturalist will be added to the project. A big thanks to Lane Community College and Cascade Mycological Society for facilitating the event! Check out the project webpage for more information!
