Expressive, dynamic, spectacular, the Aris Quartet from Germany makes its eagerly anticipated Music at Kohl debut this month with a program of music by Felix Mendelssohn and Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel (brother and sister), as well as Czech Holocaust-era composer Erwin Schulhoff and Lukas Ligeti, son of renowned Hungarian composer György Ligeti. The Aris Quartet has been at home on international stages for the past fifteen years. With its unmistakable sound, it has long been known as one of the world’s top-ranked chamber music ensembles.
Come early for a masterclass with Young Chamber Musicians at 5 pm and Pre-concert talk by Christopher Costanza at 6 pm. Stay after the concert for a complimentary glass of wine with the musicians.

Distinguished by its virtuosity, probing musical insight, and impassioned, fiery performances, the Ariel Quartet has garnered critical praise worldwide for twenty five years. Formed in Israel, the quartet now serves as Faculty Quartet-in-Residence at the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music.

Alexander String Quartet with pianist Jeffrey LaDeur
Sunday, May 4, 7 pmThe Alexander String Quartet stands among the world's premier ensembles, having performed in the major music capitals of five continents. A vital artistic presence it its home base of San Francisco, the quartet retires at the close of this season, capping a brilliant 45-year career. Pianist Jeffrey LaDeur makes his Music at Kohl debut.

San Mateo Public Library present
In celebration of National Library Week, the San Mateo Public Library and Music at Kohl, Mansion present a concert by the Pan-Latin quartet SUDAMERICANTO. The quartet will take us on a journey through South American and Caribbean traditions with a Brazilian jazz twist. Their eclectic repertoire is influenced by Afro-Peruvian and Argentinian rhythms, Chilean cueca, Brazilian samba and maracatú, and more - all tied together with rhythmic precision and intertwined with jazzy flavors.

Peninsula Ballet Theatre, the Bay Area’s second oldest professional ballet company, announced its upcoming spring repertory program, showcasing an exciting blend of classical elegance and contemporary innovation. This season's performance highlights include a reimagined one-act version of the legendary classical ballet Don Quixote, featuring choreography by Artistic Director Gregory Amato and Ballet Mistress Nina Amato after Marius Petipa, set to Ludwig Minkus' iconic score.
