Looking back at 2024 and entering into 2025, we continue to be grateful for the privilege of bringing dance to Cincinnati. We believe that everyone here deserves the connection, power, and deeper understanding of life that Modern Dance encompasses.

We work to connect you, neighbors, and families to Modern and Contemporary Dance — be it through our own exquisite company or internationally-recognized guests. We are constantly awed by what dance can do: for example, its capacity to harness big, incredible ideas while using the smallest of gestures to express the otherwise impossible-to-express.

As you’ve probably heard me say in curtain speeches, we won’t abide by the prices that result from simply dividing up the hefty costs of the work. So, as a 501(c)(3) IRS-recognized charity, we rely on donations to keep this beautiful thing going. 

Here are just some of the incredible things donations have helped us to accomplish last year:

- We brought Modern Dance to more than 7000 Cincinnatians, including 2000 children by way of performances, free or low-cost classes, outreach, and sharing our facilities. 

- We were honored with a fourth-consecutive National Endowment for the Arts award.

- We were chosen to perform at Dance St. Louis, putting Cincinnati on the map at a festival where national big-hitters are showcased.

- We completely sold out our recent resident company’s Up-Close chamber performance one month ahead of opening night, bringing us to add a fifth night.
