Bismarck, ND - On April 28, the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in Bismarck will host students from across the state competing in the National History Day in North Dakota state competition. Students in grades six to 12 will present research on a topic related to the 2023 theme, “Frontiers in History.” The public is invited to view the competition entries from 12:30-1:15 p.m. The top entries from this competition are invited to the national contest at the University of Maryland at College Park in June.

National History Day was established in 1974 and currently engages more than half a million students nationwide in conducting original research on historical topics of interest. Students present their research as a documentary, exhibit, paper, performance, or website. For more information, visit nhd.org.
