From: National Museum of Civil War MedicineThe National Museum of Civil War Medicine is proud to host Peter Wood, Collector of the Impossible, as he presents incredible, magical objects with unparalleled showmanship.
Wood shares incredible magic and escapes from the Civil War era in this Museum exclusive event. Part magic show, part storytelling, this 45-minute program is designed for ages 8 through adult. Wood’s interactive show feels like stepping into a cabinet of curiosities, filled with supernatural paintings, mysterious elixirs, mind-reading devices, and more.
Peter Wood was praised by famous magicians Penn & Teller on national television for his amazing act. When not performing, Wood’s specific magical thinking and fabrication know-how have let him to design and consult for film projects, theatrical productions, and his fellow performers. He worked behind the scenes on the groundbreaking Penn & Teller Masterclass in Las Vegas, has lectured on magic at Johns Hopkins University, and co-hosted a podcast for Bicycle Playing Cards. Wood’s creations have appeared in several film festivals, numerous TV appearances, stages in Sweden, Brunei, New York, at the Magic Castle in Hollywood, and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
"I think folks will be surprised to hear how the Civil War overlaps with magic," Wood said, "and I'm looking forward to sharing some stories and impossibilities with Museum guests!"
When: Shows are on Saturday, August 24 at 8:00 PM and Sunday, August 25 at 2:00 PM.

Tickets for this special event are $15 for the general public, or $12 for Museum members.
