From: Ohio Governor Mike DeWine(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted today announced the approval of assistance for eight projects set to create 663 new jobs and retain 499 jobs statewide.
During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in more than $35 million in new payroll and spur more than $185 million in investments across Ohio.
Projects approved by the TCA include:
CENTRAL
Warabeya North America Inc., Columbus (Franklin County), expects to create 60 full-time positions, generating $3.6 million in new annual payroll, as a result of its new location in Columbus. Warabeya produces and sells sandwiches, burritos, light meals, and other products for 7-Eleven stores. The TCA approved a 1.343%, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
NORTHEAST
SFS Group USA Inc., Sharon Township (Medina County), expects to create 45 full-time positions, generating more than $2.5 million in new annual payroll and retaining more than $7.9 million in existing payroll, as a result of its expansion project in Sharon Township. SFS Group USA is a Tier I manufacturer of brake systems components for passenger vehicles, including fasteners, blind rivets, and engineered metal and plastic parts. The TCA approved a 1.257%, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
NORTHWEST
GVS Filtration Inc., Findlay (Hancock County), expects to create 74 full-time positions, generating more than $4.5 million in new annual payroll and retaining more than $8.3 million in existing payroll, as a result of its expansion project in Findlay. The GVS Group is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of filter solutions for applications in the health care and life sciences, energy and mobility, and health and safety sectors. The TCA approved a 1.425%, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
New Horizons Baking Company LLC, Toledo (Lucas County), expects to create 45 full-time positions, generating $2.3 million in new annual payroll and retaining more than $2.7 million in existing payroll, as a result of its expansion project in Toledo. New Horizons is an English muffin and soft roll manufacturer supplying major restaurant companies. This company has been in business for more than 55 years with multiple factory locations. The TCA approved a 1.199%, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
P.M. Electro Auto Inc., Toledo (Lucas County), expects to create 100 full-time positions, generating $5.2 million in new annual payroll, as a result of its new location in Toledo. PMEA is a leading brand for led lighting, cleanroom partition panels, furniture, laboratory furniture, switchboard components, automobile parts, and the solar industry. The TCA approved a 1.381%, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
Tekni-Plex Inc., Van Wert (Van Wert County), expects to create 100 full-time positions, generating more than $4.8 million in new annual payroll, as a result of its new location in Van Wert. Tekni-Plex is a globally integrated company that provides innovative solutions through materials science and manufacturing technologies. The TCA approved a 1.311%, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
SOUTHWEST
Oats Overnight Inc., West Chester Township (Butler County), expects to create 179 full-time positions, generating more than $7.7 million in new annual payroll, as a result of its new location in West Chester Township. Oats Overnight is a packager and distributor of healthy, protein-rich breakfast meals. It ships direct to consumer via its website along with online retailer Amazon and in-store at Walmart. The TCA approved a 1.321%, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
Sunstar Engineering Americas Inc., Springboro and Franklin (Warren County), expects to create 60 full-time positions, generating $5 million in new annual payroll and retaining $10.6 million in existing payroll, as a result of its expansion project in Springboro and Franklin. Sunstar is a leading supplier to the Japanese automotive and motorcycle industry. The company creates undercoating and body sealant used in the manufacturing of automobiles. It also creates aftermarket parts for motorcycles. The TCA approved a 1.626%, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
