David Kurt Schuchmann, age 56 of Ansonia, died peacefully in the comfort of his home on December 22, 2024. Born in Derby on August 29, 1968, he was the son of Jean E. McCarthy Schuchmann of Ansonia and the late William A. Schuchmann. Mr. Schuchmann was a lifelong resident of Ansonia and a 1986 graduate of Ansonia High School. He assisted his parents working in the family business at Eastside Greenhouses and as of recent times, became his mother’s full-time care giver. Dave was loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox and was an avid baseball card collector. He enjoyed trips to the casinos and shared a special bond with his grandchildren. Mr. Schuchmann will be long remembered for his generosity and willingness to help others in their time of need. In addition to his mother Jean, he is survived by his devoted children, David P. Schuchmann and his wife, Brittany of Derby, Megan Schuchmann and Kurt Schuchmann, both of Ansonia; brothers, William A. Schuchmann, Jr. of Bethany and Michael Schuchmann and his wife, Sandi of Oxford; cherished grandchildren, Aaliyah, Camden, Aiden and Kaiden, all of Ansonia; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call on Friday, December 27, 2024 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 AM.
