Festival of Trees takes place through December 3 or as long as trees are available to purchase. Free home delivery is available for trees purchased through December 3. All items purchased after that date must be taken at the time of purchase or picked up on or before December 22.

Proceeds benefit Oglebay Institute’s arts, nature and history programs throughout the Upper Ohio Valley.

November 11: Jazz Among the Trees

Jazz at the Stifel presents The Jenny Wilson Trio (Jazz Among the Trees) 8pm Saturday, November 11, 2023.

The show takes place during Oglebay Institute’s Festival of Trees and Holiday Art Show and Sale. Doors open at 6:30pm and remain open until 11pm. Come early and stay late to browse and shop before and after the concert.

November 17: Festival of Trees Wine Tasting

One of Oglebay Institute’s most popular events, the Festival of Trees Wine Tasting takes place 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, November 17, 2023 at the Stifel Fine Arts Center.

The event features a scrumptious assortment of wine and food pairings in the elegant, yet intimate, splendor of one of Wheeling’s grand properties. The 100-year-old Edemar Mansion (now known as the Stifel Fine Arts Center) will be transformed into a holiday marketplace featuring hundreds of handcrafted items by dozens of local artisans.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to browse the Festival of Trees, which features a variety of trees, wreaths, and garlands decorated by creative and skilled volunteers. Items are available for bid or purchase, and all proceeds benefit Oglebay Institute.

More than the just wine…

During wine events, you can view the art on display in the gallery. As you explore the historic mansion, you will also marvel at the stained glass windows, grand central staircase, marble floors and the majestic fireplace in the formal living room. During warm weather, stroll through the gardens. You can purchase your favorite vintages, too. Most of all, unwind and have fun. Oglebay Institute wine events are great places to discover new wines and meet other wine lovers, too. These popular events are also perfect for date nights and evenings out with friends.

November 29: Business After Hours with the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce

Oglebay Institute and the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce are proud to present the Festival of Trees Business After Hours Wednesday, November 29, from 5-7pm.

Visit OI’s Stifel Fine Arts Center for hors d’oeuvres, drinks, live music, and tour of Festival of Trees and Holiday Art Show & Sale.

$20 in advance/$25 at the door.

December 2: Merry Christmas, Marshmallow! An Interactive Children’s Play

Join us December 2, 2023 for an interactive children’s play, holiday treats, and a visit with Santa during Oglebay Institute’s Festival of Trees at Stifel Fine Arts Center.

About the Program

Marshmallow the elf needs your help to decorate the Christmas tree for North Pole Lodge! (That’s where the elves celebrate Christmas.) Join Marshmallow on a scavenger hunt through Stifel Fine Arts Center to make ornaments, gather the elves, and finally, top the tree with a star. After the play, enjoy holiday treats and visit with Santa Claus.

$15 per person. (Free to children 3 and under) Program begins at 10am and lasts approximately 90 minutes.

December 3: Brunch Among the Trees

Brunch Among the Trees, from 11am-1pm December 3, includes a delicious brunch buffet, catered by Midge’s Kitchen, along with mimosa and hot cocoa bars, and a hilarious holiday outfit contest.

Dress to impress for the contest in your favorite tacky sweater, bow-covered skirt, or holiday hat. We’ll have a photo booth set up to capture the fun. The holiday outfit contest takes place at 12pm in the gallery.
