OKLAHOMA CITY, OK — On January 7, 2025, the Oklahoma Democratic Party (ODP) hosted a highly successful Legislative Meet & Greet in honor of Oklahoma’s Capitol Reorganization Day. Held at the Oklahoma State Capitol in Room 100, the event brought together local legislators, community leaders, and engaged citizens for an insightful morning of conversation and collaboration.
The event, which ran from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., was designed to foster dialogue between state lawmakers and the public, while giving attendees a chance to learn more about legislative priorities and the ongoing work within the Capitol. With a goal of 60 attendees, the event was well-received, with 45 people coming together to discuss the issues that matter most to Oklahomans.
“We were thrilled to see such engaged participation from our elected officials and the community," said Chairwoman Alicia Andrews of the Oklahoma Democratic Party. "Our goal was to create an opportunity for meaningful interaction and transparency, and I believe we succeeded in doing that.”
Speakers and Highlights
The event featured a range of prominent Oklahoma legislators who spoke on various topics, emphasizing the importance of community involvement and effective legislative action.

Rep. John Waldron captivated the audience with a powerful message about the importance of focusing energy on local communities, and how this grassroots approach can create meaningful change.
Other legislators, including Sen. Mark Mann, Rep. Ellen Pogemiller, Rep. Ellyn Hefner, Sen. Carri Hicks, and Sen. Julia Kirt, spoke about key priorities for the upcoming legislative session, touching on issues such as education, healthcare, and local economic development.
